Our story!

For several years now I have had the urge to travel which has been a dream of mine before marriage and children. My husband was never keen on the idea until one afternoon in 2016 he said, "let's do this!" The next day I began to sell, donate and give away items from my home. He was a bit shocked when he got home from work. I immediately called a realtor and our home sold within 24 hours for more than we were asking. I had sold, donated and given away EVERYTHING so that the day we moved we didn't even need a truck. We were able to drive away with everything we had left in both our vehicles. We moved to a smaller place directly across from the beach to enjoy the sunrise and sunsets for the following year before taking off to travel full time!

Frankfurt, Germany

What a wonderful visit we had with a high school friend and her family. We had such a great visit and made lasting memories together. Frankfurt is a beautiful city to visit considering it was leveled during World War II. They built on the ruins left from the war and you can see how the old architecture merges with the new. Amazing history there!

During the time that we were visiting Germany a bomb had been discovered from World War II. That is part of the life of living in an area where so many bombs were dropped during the war, 75 years ago.

Lisbon, Portugal

This year we did not get to go to Europe as we planned because of the pandemic. Instead I decided to take this year and catch up with all the videos of our previous years visiting Portugal, Spain, England and Germany. We have our tickets already purchased for 2022 to visit Portugal, France and Spain. We have invited our youngest daughter, Deena, to join us. We are really excited to share all that we have experienced with her too.

Our first and last stop for each visit to Europe is Lisbon, Portugal. We love the airport there and the efficiency of going through customs. In this video I wanted to capture the beautiful architecture of the old city. A great place to explore, eat, discover, shop and so much more. One of our favorite places to visit!

When you watch our video you will understand why we love it there so much and want to return each year...

Home to South Florida

This year we stayed home to take of some medical stuff. It was great to live that Florida lifestyle in the winter especially. I miss my girls and swimming the most when we travel. I was able to make up for lost time.

Tarifa, Spain

A truly different place to see when visiting Spain. We love this little town on the coast and plan to take others who visit with us to see. The seafood is outrageous and fresh. It has the influence of the Spanish and Africa combined in it's architecture and local shops. It's a popular place for surfers because it sits on the Atlantic on one side of the city and the Mediterranean Sea on the other. The sights and sounds of this little place are intoxicating. This is one of those little places that you don't mind returning to year after year!

England

A beautiful trip to England to visit our niece and nephew-we stayed in the small village of Bury St. Edmunds and one night in the basement of a hotel in London. The sound of the subway underground put us to sleep. I didn’t care for the fact that we didn’t have a window but for one night it was fine!

We like to stay here because it is in a more rural setting which is what we prefer. Traveling Life ~ A Typical Day!

Everyone always asks us about our traveling life. Every day can't just be filled up with sightseeing and exploring, right? We have typical days where we drive into town like everyone else and take care of business or projects of some kind. We still enjoy an ordinary day of life or helping a friend or family member with a big project!

Our Favorite Places in Florida!

We have camped at 19 different places in Florida in the past 3 years. There are 3 campgrounds in Florida that we absolutely love the most. Also, we have settled into a small rural community in the Sunshine State that we come to yearly to do all the annual check ups and things that need to be done because it is so much simpler to do than in the larger cities. Florida is definitely a wonderful place to camp and I never realized it even though we are both from this beautiful state. You cannot beat the wildlife experience and the perfect weather all year round. It's our home!

Tennessee Campgrounds

We love to visit family and friends in Tennessee! There are quite a few places to camp there but we go over three campgrounds: Harrison Bay State Park in Harrison, Tennessee, Parksville Lake RV Campground in Ocoee, Tennessee  & Cedars of Lebanon State Park in Lebanon, Tennessee.

Georgia Camping

There are some wonderful campgrounds in Georgia. We begin with Unicoi State Park where we first began tent camping. We share our time at East Bank Campground and Seminole State Park. Also, Old Hwy #41 and Woodring Campground which are just a few of the places we have camped in Georgia.

Florida Salt Springs Campground!

This is usually one of our first stops when coming back to the Sunshine State. We love this campground and have been here each year since we started traveling in 2018. It is considered one of the recreational jewels of Ocala National Forest.

Rural and Charming Lake Placid, Florida!

What a beautiful place to spend time in during this winter. It is old Florida and a wonderful break from the chaos of a large city. A rural charming area that still remains like the old Florida of yesteryear. We came here two years ago to visit one of my dearest friends and fell in love instantly. Beautiful lakes and homes with piers on the waterways. There is development happening but a lot of open space in the area.

When the pandemic hit we knew immediately where we wanted to sit and ride this out. A beautiful home on the lake became our home for a season. It was a time to hit the reset button and prepare for future travels. We had a great time there with family and friends plus my grandkids enjoyed our home and being together. After three months we got back on the road and resumed our travels.

This year I could not wait to come back to the Sunshine State like all the other snow birds. I have missed swimming in the ocean with my girls, our picnics and the wildlife we find when we are out exploring. We headed back for the holidays and came back to live at Lake Placid. Our doctors are here now and what a joy to be able to get all our annual checkups done without all the traffic and long waits. We now have our favorite restaurants and places we love to shop. They don’t have everything but there is enough and we love the locals.

This picture was taken from our campground as we watched the sunsets each night. We enjoyed our afternoon walks together and grateful for our time in this enchanting little town!
