The first place I check for a campground is on Recreation.gov. It is one of the easiest online systems that we use in making reservations. It is user friendly and easy to follow compared to all the other websites we use. Those campgrounds are our favorite and the best prices. Some have full hookup but most don't.
If I don't find anything for the area or state that I am looking then I will look on google maps for the state parks in those areas. Search State Parks near whatever town or state I want to camp. State parks are the next beautiful place to camp and again the prices are best. Some have full hookup but most don't.
The third area I search for are county campgrounds. Those have been some of the most beautiful places that we have stayed. Just google search County Campgrounds near whatever city you would like to be near. Some have full hookup but some don't.
If all those areas fail then I will just google campgrounds near the city I would like to camp. I choose by looking at the reviews then I will look up to see if there is a video on Youtube by someone who has camped there. Travelers are good about filming the campgrounds and there are even some who video each campsite. It's a great way to pick the best site.
I am putting together a list of all the places that we have camped in each state to assist anyone who is looking for a campground and will post on this website in a few days.
We want to make your travel life as easy as possible. This is something that I have learned by listening to others who love to travel like we do. We have been able to do this lifestyle easily because we have followed people online. People share the good and bad of what they have learned and kept us from making too many mistakes, thankfully!
